This will open the Three Fourths Inch sticker making it available for editing the layout. Continue to the Configuring the Barcode object in Design Mode.

Adding Barcode to Standard Reports

(Due For Calibration, Summary of Gages, etc)

Select the Event Reports type in the upper left area, then select the appropriate Layout you wish to modify.

With Standard Reports, to add Barcodes you will have design the layout of the report. On Step 2 of the Report wizard, select the Design radio button.

Click the Next button to proceed to Step 4 of the Report wizard. Click on the Design Report button.

Configuring the Barcode object

Notice the 3 tabs available.

Calc - Used for advanced coding.

Design - This is where you can add objects to your layout, position the objects, and remove objects.

Preview - This tab will show you a Preview of your layout.

While on the Design tab, select 1 of the 4 Barcode objects available on the tool bar.

1D Barcodes

Manually assigned 1D Standard Barcode values.

Database Assigned 1D Standard Barcode values.

2D Barcodes

Manually assigned 2D Barcode values.

Database Assigned 2D Barcode values.

After selecting the Barcode object you wish to use, drop it on the palette. With the Barcode object still selected, position the object where you would like. While still selected, change the properties of the object.

Select the BarCodeType you wish to use. In this case I've selected DataMatrix. To alter the Properties of this DataMatrix object, expand the DataMatrixSettings property Settings.

If you have selected QRCode as your Barcode Type, then expand the QRCodeSettings.

If you have selected PDF417 as your Barcode Type, then expand the PDF417Settings.

You can adjust the size of the Barcode by modifying the ModuleSize and QuietZone. I've also indicated I want the Barcode to be square.

Assigning a Database Value to the Barcode

With the Barcode object still selected, the first drop down value would be the Data Pipeline. Moving to the right is the Database value drop down. Here you will select what Database value you want the Barcode to represent. In this case, I.D. is selected.

Previewing the Layout

After positioning your objects and placing the Barcode object on your palette, you can view your design by clicking the Preview tab. If your Preview is blank, switch back to the Design tab and save your layout.
